Heat Exchanger Volvo 2003

My heat exchanger failed (sea water was entering the coolant side) ... so I could either buy a new one, or make a new one ... the procedure was not so difficult ..

First make all the new parts



Then make a test assembly:

 




Solder the internals with silver solder (~650 á 700 celsius) and replace in the outer conatiner with "soft" solder Pb/Sn




I included new rings to reinforce the tube, as the outer was very thin, but now it is complete and ready for another 30 years service.
