Feeling 920 keel bolt construction
05 Mar 2022 18:19
Hi, anybody know how the keel bolts are configured on a Feeling 920 with cast iron ballast?
Do they screw into the iron or are there nuts epoxied into the iron from side holes. Need to do some keel bolt work and would be nice to know what I’m dealing with in advance. Thanks

Hi Mark,
I found this old post : BOULON DE QUILLE DU 9.20 - Forum Club Feeling (clubfeeling1090.fr)
I understand that bolts are screwed into the iron for about 10cm (and fixed whith nuts inside the boat).
It appears that even if bolts are rusted, the part which is in the keel stays "new".
Post is in French, would you need help for translation please tell us.
Your sincerely,
Michel

Hi Michel,
thank you so much for your reply and offer.
I read all the posts, translated through Google, and believe I understood the main part.
I would agree that it appears the threaded bar screws into the iron keel with nuts securing the keel to the inside of the hull. Unless anyone else has a different opinion?

Hi Mark,
yes, these posts say that the threaded bars are scewed into the iron keel , and there are nuts inside the hull.
Some users could change these threaded bars without removing keel.
I post your question in French and hope getting answers and views...
Cheers,
Michel
Bonjour,
Amicalement,
Michel
