Hi,

I thought I should post something to introduce myself being new here.
My wife and I are looking to buy our first boat and have fallen for the Feeling and in particular the 286 or possibly 850. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

Feelings are fairly rare in the UK (how much longer will there be a UK?) which seems strange given that they seem to be so wonderfully laid out.

it may be easier to find and buy a Feeling in France than UK. I dont see any 286 or 850 to be sold on our web site, but there are plenty of sites and brokers where you can find her.
I will ask the 286 and 850 owners to post some advices for you.

We are not in a rush / hurry, they do appear for sale in the UK from time to time, it will be just a case of looking out for the right boat etc.

Advice on the fin or winged shoal keel would also be useful.

Je suis proprietaire d'un FEELING 850 Special. C'est un bateau élégant, dont la longue jupe se remarque tout de suite sur un plan d'eau, sportif, très plaisant, et qui marche extremement bien par petit temps (le mat est plus long que sur le 850, avec gréement en tête), mais aussi dans la brise, grace à sa carène signé Philippe BRIAND. Le Feeling 850 Racing (même carène) eu un beau palmarès en Half Toner dans les années 85.Le plan des aménagements est très confortable pour un bateau de course croisière des années 85 90. Il y a tout le confort, avec vrai cuisine, cabinet de toilette , cabine arrière avec vrai couchage 2 places, et Grande table à cartes. A l'avant, un lit Breton pour 2 personnes.Le carré est convivial.Que dire de plus, sinon qu'actuellement, je pense pour ma part que c'est un excellent rapport prix performance agréement.Le seul inconvénient, lorsque la famille s'agrandit,avec l'arrivée des petits enfants,est l'absence d'une réelle deuxième cabine. C'est pourquoi, je pense mettre le mien en vente, afin d'acquérir un Feeling 326, que j'ai déjà possédé dans une autre vie, et qui correspond mieux à un programme de navigation "Papy Mamy et petits enfants ", avec ses deux cabines et sa caréne moins "pointue", mais tout de même signée Philippe Harlé, le père talentueux de tant de FEELINGS.

Many thanks for the reply, it should be me who apologises for not being able to speak French!

It was a 850 that first caught my eye, I thought it was a great looking boat, with a good layout below deck, in a compact boat. I understand that the 326 would be more practical with the extra cabin but feel the 850 or 286 would be the ideal size, I also like the style.

I can see that both 850 and 286 are very similar but with each having benefits, the 850 has more around table area, 286 more space in toilet / cabin? and no P bracket.

So are you intending to sell your 850?
